GREENFIELD — The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts’ monthly brown bag program for qualifying seniors will be held Thursday, Aug. 6, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Greenfield Senior Center at 35 Pleasant St.
According to a notice from the Senior Center’s Activities Director Kathy Dunn, seniors who receive fuel assistance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits) or other benefits will qualify. To apply, call the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts at 413-247-9738.
The brown bag program is currently offered in a drive-thru format. Recipients are advised to:
■Clear a space in your vehicle to place your bag.
■Stay in your vehicle. Watch for traffic officers and follow directions. Do not turn around in neighbors’ driveways.
■If possible, use the following A-Z order to avoid traffic: Last name A-G, arrive from 10 to 10:15 a.m.; last name H-M, arrive from 10:15 to 10:30 a.m.; last name N-S, arrive from 10:30 to 10:45 a.m.; and last name T-Z, arrive from 10:45 to 11 a.m.
■Plan accordingly in regards to restrooms, as the John Zon Community Center remains closed and restrooms aren’t available.
According to the notice, Weldon House bags will be delivered for participants who have signed up for that.
GREENFIELD — The Robbins Memorial Church at 55 Munson St. is holding its next pie sale on Friday, July 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Strawberry rhubarb, apple and blueberry varieties are available. While reservations are accepted for all pies, sugar-free pies are by reservation only.
