If you happened to notice the article in The Recorder of July 18,” Morse closes fundraising gap in race vs. Neal,” you probably noticed that these two people represent very different views and very different constituencies.

“The vast majority of Neal’s second-quarter fundraising, 84%, came from political action committees…” while “Nearly all of Morse’s fundraising came from individual donors, 95% of whom gave less than $200…”.

This is a big deal!

While many constituents in Neal’s district support Medicare for All and the Green New Deal (GND), Neal won’t even discuss single payer and was the only legislator in the Massachusetts delegation who would not endorse the principles of the GND.

A quick look at where Neal’s money comes from — tobacco and alcohol, insurance, health care, and financial services — shows where his loyalties lie and for whom he works.

Interesting factoid: Alex was born right around the time that Richie Neal, currently the chair of Ways & Means, began his tenure in Congress that has now stretched to 30+ years! It’s time for a change!

We need a representative in Congress who recognizes that we are at a critical moment in the history of both our country and our planet. A representative who will actually fight for constituents who desperately need Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, an end to systemic racism, decent housing, food security, high-quality education, and good jobs. Alex is that person.
