Massachusetts State Police arrested three women on Interstate 91 Friday night on charges of trafficking cocaine.
The women, all of whom are residents of Brooklyn, N.Y., were also charged with possession to distribute a Class A drug, conspiracy to violate the drug law and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
According to a State Police press release, Trooper Adam Couture and his Field Training Officer Michael Leslie, both of the Shelburne Falls barracks, were on patrol on Interstate 91 northbound at around 8:30 p.m. Friday when they saw a Nissan Maxima traveling above the posted speed limit.
The officers pulled over the vehicle and after a search of the vehicle and its passengers — Faith Torres, 23, Angelique Woodson, 33, and Aniaya Ellis, 22 — they located about 130 grams of cocaine and 6 grams of heroin, according to the statement.
The three passengers were arrested and transported to the Shelburne Falls barracks for booking.
A fourth occupant, the driver of the vehicle, who State Police did not name, was issued a criminal summons and released.
Bail was set at $35,000 for Torres, and at $5,000 for Woodson and Ellis, according to the statement. They were transferred to the Franklin County House of Correction, pending their arraignment in Greenfield District Court on Monday.
