Chris Ferriter continued to find success at the Country Club of Greenfield.
The Holyoke resident shot a 4-under par round of 68, good enough for low gross honors at the Greenfield Senior Open on Friday.
Ferriter, who won the club’s Invitational 4-Ball two years ago, carded six birdies on his round, with the lone blemish coming with a double-bogey on No. 18. His 68 gave him a one-shot cushion over runner-up Steve Jones, who shot 3-under 69.
Dick Barber was the only other player under par, shooting 1-under 71. Scott Cote and Bob Hamilton tied for fourth place at even-par 72.
John Varner had the low net of the tournament with a 68, followed by a quartet of golfers at 69 – Mike Laga, Tom Basile, Ernie Patnode and Tom Bergeron.
CFC Men’s League
David Donoghue’s plus-7 point quota was enough for the top spot in the Blue Tee Flight at the Crumpin-Fox Club’s Men’s League on Thursday.
The trio of Carl Hoynoski, Nick Stoddard and Patrick Merrigan tied for second place at plus-5, while Jason Germain was next at plus-4.
Closest to the pin winner was Cam Merrigan on No. 9 (8 feet, 4 inches), and Rich Carroll recorded the longest drive.
