GILL — An uncontested town election on Monday produced no surprises, re-electing 10 town officials, including Selectboard member Greg Snedeker.
The election had been rescheduled to late June from its usual time on the third Monday of May, due to concerns over the coronavirus. To reduce social contact, polling hours were reduced to only four hours on Monday rather than eight, and voters were encouraged to use absentee ballots instead.
Of a total 1,107 registered voters, 98 voted in this election, according to Town Clerk Doreen Stevens. Of the 98, 45 voted by absentee ballot.
Selectboard member Snedeker was re-elected for his third term for three years. There were no opposing candidates. Snedeker has been on the board since 2014, when former member Ann Banash did not run for re-election.
All other positions on the ballot were also uncontested:
■Board of Assessors, three years — Pamela Lester
■Tax collector, three years — Thomas Hodak
■Cemetery Commission, three years — Shirley Flagg
■Constable, three years (three positions) — Fred Chase II, Craig Gaudry, Fred Chase III
■Library trustee, three years — Megan Bathory-Peeler
■Board of Health, three years — Edward Galipault
■Tree warden, three years — Roger Augustine
