HAWLEY — A man was airlifted to the hospital Monday afternoon after falling about 10 feet from a ladder.
The Hawley Fire Department responded to the call at around 3:30 p.m.
The man, a 36-year-old New Hampshire resident, was an internet installer working on the side of a building at 58 Forget Road, according to Fire Chief Greg Cox.
“The ladder shifted, and he fell about 10 feet down onto the ground,” Cox said.
When Cox arrived, the man was complaining of pain in his right shoulder, right upper ribs and wrists. He did not lose consciousness.
A landing zone was set up in the field across from the building, at Sidehill Farm, for the man to be airlifted — likely to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Cox said.
Colrain Ambulance and Charlemont Rescue assisted.
