The Four Town Loan Fund involving Greenfield, Shelburne, Buckland and Montague is now accepting loan applications from “micro-enterprises,” or businesses with five or fewer employees, that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fund provides up to $5,000 to cover business expenses, according to Greenfield’s Community and Economic Development Director MJ Adams. Application can be found on Greenfield’s website at greenfield-ma.gov/cedd.
Loans are being administered with assistance from the Franklin County Community Development Corporation, Adams said. Businesses must be located in one of the four towns and must have five or fewer employees at the time they apply.
Adams said the owner of the business must be classified as having a low or moderate income according to his or her last eight weeks of income or most recent IRS tax return. The business must also have more than $20,000 in annual sales and have been established before Sept. 10, 2019.
An applying business, she said, must be currently operational or planning to reopen.
