Campaigning for a local position during the off-season election cycle can be difficult in the best of times. I am running for Planning Board in Deerfield and have done the usual outreach: lawn signs, social media, Saturdays at the Transfer Station. But talking with people, answering questions, and exchanging ideas has been especially challenging under COVID-19. I urge people to check out sites like “Deerfield MA 2020 Local Election” (Facebook) where all candidates can post info.
And please vote! Local elections are so important to our daily lives. Deerfield vote-by-mail ballots are available at www.deerfieldma.us/town-clerk or in the foyer of the Town offices. In-person voting (with safety protocols strictly followed) is on Monday, June 8, 10 a.m. -8 p.m. Thanks!
