GREENFIELD — Stoneleigh-Burnham School has planned a virtual commencement for its seniors.

The graduating class of 36 students, who hail from six states and 10 countries, will gather on Zoom on Friday, May 29, at 7:30 p.m. Fifteen of the graduates are from Massachusetts, seven of whom are from Franklin County.

“Our faculty and staff has been working tirelessly to make sure everything runs smoothly, so commencement is sure to be a success,” said Marketing and Communications Director Maeve Ryan.

The school, which finished its last day of remote learning on Friday, May 22, opted for a virtual ceremony over a socially distant or modified in-person ceremony in consideration of state and federal guidelines aimed at mitigating the spread of COVID-19, according to Ryan.

The ceremony will include remarks from the senior class president, as well as board of trustees Chair Lynn Schultz Kehoe and Head of School Stephanie Luebbers.

Ryan added that each student will be recognized individually for their achievements and contributions to the school. Award and scholarship winners will be announced prior to the event, and diplomas will be mailed to each graduate’s home.
