Manufacturing company garners award

SOUTH DEERFIELD — Pelican Products, a manufacturer that produces advanced lighting systems and virtually indestructible cases, announced on May 4 that Project Engineer Ted Lynds won the National Institute of Packaging, Handling & Logistics Engineers’ Long-Life Package Award.

Built to replace two heavy and cumbersome metal cases, the award-winning case acts as a shipping and storage container that protects two separate torque meter models from shock, vibration and global shipping conditions, according to a Pelican Products press release. Custom design features include: a polyethylene polymer shell that can withstand impact and the elements, and can be stacked up to five cases high; a foam insert that cradles the equipment for 100; a watertight seal; and a 99 recyclable construction, among other features.

As an active member of the National Institute of Packaging, Handling & Logistics Engineers (NIPHLE), Pelican Products has been recognized multiple times, according to the release.

“The ingenuity of our amazing technical packaging team consistently shines and allows us to offer our customers the world’s most innovative and reliable custom protective case solutions,” said Stephan Corti, chief commercial officer of Pelican Products. “This well-deserved recognition proudly underscores this.”
