You can hear the primal screams of the establishment Democrats dying as Bernie gains momentum. They defeated him the first time with backroom deals at the DNC and robbed him of the nomination. They paid a heavy price for a betrayal of their principles and they got Trump for it.
Will they be so reckless again?
The Democratic Party’s future as any kind of a force depends on it staying out of the way of Bernie and his supporters. Bernie hopefully is going to be the clear leader going into the Democratic National Convention, so we are watching to see if they attempt it again.
There is already talk they are up to the same old tricks. Sad that they are willing to undermine the nomination of the only candidate that has chance in hell to defeat Trump.
To me, that says they are willing to have a right wing administration rather then their own candidate because he wears the label “democratic socialist.” How terribly sad for all us who do not care for Trump if they pull this off and Trump wins the presidency again because of their depraved thinking.
What is to become of our democracy? Think hard Democratic elites. Think what you are putting at risk with your selfish motives. I know, money, right, and privilege, and to you the equation is simple: keep them in line and you keep your money and privilege. Let them be free to choose their president and you lose it, to hell with democracy. It is only an idea. That is really what it is all about — money and privilege. You win and Bernie goes away. The proletariat is defeated again and the status quo is maintained and the idea of democracy takes another blow.
