I have been a fan of Bernie Sanders since my days as a UE Local 274 officer. I worked at Millers Falls Tool and later at the Greenfield Public Library. Bernie often came to our New England UE District Council Meetings. I remember him speaking to a Local 218 meeting in Springfield, Vermont. It was a truly open discussion and Bernie didn’t shy away from difficult questions.
What you see is what you get. He has supported what we called “Single Payer Health Care” — now “Medicare for All” as long as I’ve known him. He supported workers during difficult times such as organizing drives and contract negotiations. I know of no other candidate who could better lead this country out of our present difficulties. His Green New Deal alone would convince me to vote for him.
