Deerfield Academy’s Sydney Bluestein won the NEPSAC Division I Diving Championship for the second time in her career on Wednesday in Deerfield.
The junior took first place with 446.35 points. Bluestein edged second-place finisher Annie Bingle (446.32) of Greenwich Academy.
“I had finished every practice with a good dive,” Bluestein said. “Just to get my mentality going so I would be consistent. I came out and knew it was good.”
Bluestein also won the championship as freshman in 2018. Bingle won the NEPSAC championship last season.
“It means a lot because last year I lost,” Bluestein said. “We are very close every year. I came out winning and it show that I have been working on consistency. That really showed today which I am really happy with.”
Elsewhere for the Big Green: Lauren Mitchell placed 10th Place (280.45); Mady Sofer placed 16th (243.75) and Morgan Clough took 29th (90.80).
In the Boys Division 1 NEPSAC Championship, Deerfield’s Teddy McCarthy took second place overall.
■The fourth-seeded Deerfield Academy boys hockey team lost to No. 3 Loomis-Chaffee, 4-2, on Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the NEPSAC Large Division tournament.
Greenfield girls softball registration begins Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon at the Greenfield Elks Club.
Registration is also open on March 14 and March 21, both at the same time and place.
The league is open to all girls in Franklin County, with T-Ball for ages 5-6, Nippers ages 7-9 and Ponytails age 10-12.

The Gilmore-Farrell Mites downed Brattleboro, 12-10, on Saturday.
Asa Bouchard led the offensive charge with seven goals and an assist. Colin Galli scored a hat trick, with four assists.
Mason Vasser added a goal with four helpers. Bryce Zraunig chipped in with a goal and an assists. Finn Coffin also had an assist. Michael Mickiewicz made 56 saves.
On Sunday, the Mites fell to Pioneer Valley, 9-2.
Vasser (goal, assist), Galli (assist), Zraunig (goal) and Coffin (assist) paced the offense.
Mickiewicz stopped 53 shots.
