NORTHAMPTON — The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office has launched a new website at NorthwesternDA.org that staff hope is more user-friendly than the previous version.
The homepage showcases a photograph of the Connecticut River Valley by Greenfield Recorder Features Editor/Digital Director Andy Castillo and a streamlined menu.
“It should make it easier to find information about our prosecution and prevention efforts, and the services we offer,” reads a Northwestern District Attorney’s Office press release.
On the Domestic Violence Unit page, under the Prosecution menu tab, for instance, visitors can find links to download numerous brochures with detailed information on everything from harassment prevention orders to teen dating violence. Many of the brochures are also offered in Spanish and there is information for immigrants in nine different languages.
Additionally, on the Consumer Protection pages, under the Prevention tab, visitors can download a consumer complaint form as well as the 2020 Consumer Protection Calendar featuring advice on recognizing and avoiding scams.
Among the resources you can find on the site are:
■directions to the courthouses in the Northwestern District;
■employment and internship information;
■educational videos on topics like the physiology of drug addiction and strategies for drug misuse prevention, and how to administer Narcan;
■a video guide for victims and witnesses entering the court system;
■and public service announcements on ending sexual assault on college campuses.
