The postseason is here for Franklin County indoor track and field competitors.

Local athletes will compete for PVIAC championships tonight at Smith College in Northampton.

The PVIAC released performance lists with seeds in each event based on regular-season accomplishments.

Greenfield’s Victoria Marin is poised for a big evening competing for the Green Wave. Marin is in the top-five in three events. 

The Wave (7-6) tied with Hampshire Regional (7-6) for the Valley South league championship.

Marin is the top overall seed in the 55-meter hurdles (9.19). Marin will contend with the likes of Maddie Doolittle of South Hadley, who is the second seed (9.25).

Teammate Kacia Kinsmith is 10th in the same event (10.07).

Marin is the second seed in the long jump (16-0) and fourth in the high jump (5-0).

The long jump competition faces a tough test in top-seed Farrell Dawson of South Hadley (16-7¾ ). 

Lindsay Marjansky of South Hadley is the top-seed in the high jump (5-3).

Kinsmith is 14th in the high jump (4-7).

Athol’s Grace Dufour is 15th  in the same event
(5-2½ ).

Mahar Regional’s Carra Fitzgerald is a high seed in both the mile and the two-mile, but will miss the meet as she is dealing with an illness.

The eighth-grader was looking at third seed in the mile and the two-mile. 

Teammate Caroline Chase is seeded ninth in the 600-meter run (1:50.27).

Erica Szewczyk is seeded 11th in the mile (6:00.28) and the two-mile (12:58.07). 

Emily Boutin of Pope Francis will be tough to beat in the mile as she is the top seed by 20 seconds.  

Serena Bardwell will try to catch up to the field in the 300-meter as she is the 15th seed (46.20) for Mohawk. 

Boys track & field seeds

The Greenfield High School boys track and field team will ride the momentum of an undefeated season into the postseason.

Greenfield (13-0) claimed the Valley South league championship this season.

“We’ve had a great season,” Greenfield coach Stuart Elliott said. “The greatest thing about this season is that just about everybody has scored. We’ve had a lot of depth.” 

Liviu Mihailicenco is the third seed in the 55-meter hurdles (8.35), with teammate Theodor Popusoi right behind him in fourth (8.44)

Anthony Vieira of Ludlow has the top spot (8.13).

Popusoi and Mihailicenco bested Vieira last weekend in the final regular season meet in the 55-hurdles with Milhailicenco coming in first.  

“Anything can happen,” Elliott said of the rematch. “It comes down to two-tenths of a second.” 

Mihailicenco has a chance for the podium in the high jump with a second seed (6-1) behind Chris Johns of Longmeadow (6-5).

Crecens Iavorschi is second in the 55-meter dash (6.70), behind the speedy Jonas Clark of South Hadley (6.51).

Iavorschi is seeded second in the 300-meter dash (37.46). Mohawk’s Cullen Brown is ninth (38.19) for Mohawk in the same event.

Brown is the 17th seed out of 25 competitors in the long jump (19-2¼ ).

Popusoi is seeded 13th in the 600-meter (1:32.57) and eighth in the long jump
(20-2½ ).

Dennis Simmons in the top Franklin County seed in the mile in ninth (4:45). Simmons grabbed the ninth seed in the two-mile (10:29.60).

Mahar Regional’s Liam O’Donnell earned the ninth seed in the 1,000 (2:52.28) with Athol’s Anthony Marcucci seeded 19th (2:59.70).
