I had noticed recently that the fish tank in the waiting area at BFMC Laboratory has been removed. I had always enjoyed this feature. I was told it was for “safety” reasons. What a joke. Just another case of corporate insensitivity for one of the “very few” enjoyable pleasures we patients get to see upon entering the hospital doors. I’ve heard similar comments from others as well regarding the loss of this adorable little feature.

You, Mr. Keroack, and your organization have taken another baby step down in my eyes and in the eyes of others as well. Fish tanks abound in doctor’s offices and restaurants, etc. So, it seems rather odd to me that it only seems to be a safety issue at the BFMC Laboratory. You and your organization always “talk-the-talk”…. But you’ve become so focused on the “big picture,” all the “little things” that once made Franklin Medical Center the “community hospital” it once was, have slowly disappeared over the years. Just my opinion.
