GREENFIELD — The Franklin County Fair garnered five awards during this year’s Massachusetts Agricultural Fairs Association (MAFA) Media Awards competition, which were presented during the organization’s annual meeting on Nov. 9 in Farmington, Conn.
The fair received first-place honors in the premium books category; two second-place awards for brochures and posters; and two third-place awards for newspaper advertising and television advertising — all in the “Major Fairs” designation.
The awards are coordinated by Eastern States Exposition’s Director of Marketing Noreen Tassinari and Public Relations and Communications Manager Catherine Pappas. This year’s judges were John Paul Grego, Lauren Leitch and Jenielle Morrison of Mascola Advertising in New Haven, Conn.
According to an Eastern States Exposition press release, 15 fairs from across Massachusetts participated in the competition, which drew 88 entries.
The competition takes place in October and is open to all fairs, festivals and agricultural shows that are members of MAFA. Submissions for the 2020 competition will be accepted by The Big E’s marketing department following next year’s Big E, which will take place Sept. 18 to Oct. 4. GREENFIELD — Hector F. Toledo has been promoted to vice president and branch distribution network officer at Greenfield Savings Bank.
In his new position, Toledo is responsible for overseeing all the bank’s branch office operations and the Customer Service Center located in Turners Falls. He joined the bank in 2018 as the office sales manager at the Hadley branch, according to a Greenfield Savings Bank press release.
“Hector joined us with more than 30 years of experience in banking,” said John H. Howland, president and CEO of Greenfield Savings Bank. “His commitment to the highest standards of customer service and his lifelong volunteering for the community match our banks’s core values.”
Toledo has an associate’s degree in business management from Springfield Technical Community College and has completed the Commercial Lender Management School Program in Boston, the release states. Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, Toledo resides in Springfield with his wife, son and daughter.
In addition, Toledo is a member of the board of trustees at both Baystate Health and Greenfield Community College.
GREENFIELD — Cohn & Company Real Estate Agency has added Maureen Donelan to its team of real estate professionals.
Donelan grew up in the North Quabbin region and currently lives in Greenfield, according to a Cohn & Company press release. She became a real estate agent more than 30 years ago when she started working for Leeden Realty. For the last 16 years, she has worked as a teacher and school administrator.
According to the release, Donelan is a former member of the North Central Massachusetts Association of Realtors, having been a Realtor in Worcester County, and is now a member of the Pioneer Valley Realtor Association. As the newest member of the Cohn & Company team, she will focus on residential sales in Franklin and Hampshire counties and the North Quabbin region.
