After listening to the first day of public testimony of the U.S. House of Representatives’ hearings regarding the possible impeachment of President Trump, I came away thinking that those of us living in the United States of America are extremely fortunate to have career public servants in the U. S. State Department who put their jobs above whatever personal thoughts and feelings they may, or not have regarding their elected leaders. Day in and day out, without taking up arms for military combat, they are this country’s first line of professionalism working for the betterment and ethical sustainability of their country, and other people living on this planet. I don’t believe that they claim to be perfect regarding who they are and what they do, but at the same time hold their heads up proudly that they are doing what they believe to be the best that they can do for their country. I don’t know what they get paid for what they do, but regardless, I am writing to say thank you to all of them, because . . . we couldn’t live in this country, as we do, without their efforts. They are our non-military veterans that work for the greater good.
