What to take away from Greenfield’s election results: Conservative candidate Allis received 1,539 votes while progressives Wedegartner and Gilmour collectively took in 3,950. That is way more than a 2:1 win over conservatism — all of that in a new “safe city.”
Back in the 1960s and ’70s, we conservatives accused young liberal protesters of anarchy. “If you want change, we advised, don’t be a militant, get out and vote and run for office!” And that they did.
Now they control our country at local, state and federal levels. Conservatism is fading fast and constantly under attack.
My advice remains: If conservatives want change, don’t be militant or cry in your beer. Get out and vote and run for office. The liberals made it happen and so can you (we).
