I heard a lot of cliches in the recent City Council debate. Everyone loves Greenfield and wants to represent us all. But the only candidate who had an innovative plan was Taunette Greene.

Taunette repeated several times that she wants to attract livable wage jobs — not jobs pumping gas or wrapping burgers. We have some people that think that the $12 an hour job at big box stores will save us. But Taunette wants to zone more land for manufacturing and light industry.

We cannot build an economy on cliches! Taunette Greene’s ideas deserve much more attention.
