WARWICK — After an Oct. 16 storm left lasting damage to the town’s broadband network, Town Coordinator David Young said the system was fully operational as of Friday afternoon.
If your home system still isn’t working, Young said it may require a reboot and to call Warwick Broadband members at 413-676-9544.
“We were able to correct the final problems impairing the broadband system,” Young said in a town-wide email. “In consideration of the lengthy outage, Warwick Broadband is not going to cost you anything next month, November.”
NORTHFIELD — A local music director will come to the Dickinson Memorial Library on Nov. 1, at 6:30 p.m. to tell the 30-year-old story of Amandla Chorus — recently renamed Fiery Hope.
Eveline MacDougall, founder and director of the chorus, will read from her new book, “Fiery Hope: Building Community with the Amandla Chorus,” autograph copies and sing a few songs from the group’s repertoire of global and original music.
The event is free and open to the public.
NORTHFIELD — The appointed Ad Hoc Water Committee will meet for the first time Tuesday at 5 p.m at Town Hall.
As an ad hoc committee, it cannot establish any policy on its own; the information the committee gathers will be given to the Selectboard for discussion on possible actions or policies. The newly formed committee is tasked with considering the possibilities of what the town can do to address the rising water rates and residents’ concerns.
The Selectboard created the Ad Hoc Water Committee during its Sept. 23 meeting. At its Oct. 7 meeting, the Selectboard appointed Board of Health member Phil Baker, Planning Board member Tony Stavely, Board of Assessors member Beth Walker and Finance Committee member Sue Kaczenski to the Ad Hoc Water Committee.
