More important than your impressive tenure at UFCW Local 1459 is your dedication to your co-workers and your community. You have, for years, exemplified what it means to be an engaged, caring, involved citizen and co-worker. You selflessly gave your own time and resources during the recent Stop and Shop strike. You could be found on the strike line any time during the day keeping spirits high and educating the community on the importance of honoring strike lines.
In addition to your efforts on the strike line, you have spent 44 years as a Union Steward. You have spent countless hours of your own time helping coworkers resolve their issues. As a former steward myself, I know firsthand how challenging this job can be. To have done it, and done it well, for nearly four and a half decades shows the type of dedicated person that you are. You have always been one to think of others first. These qualities make you uniquely qualified to perform the job as City Councilor as you care deeply for your community.
