WARWICK — At approximately 6 a.m. Thursday morning, Warwick Police and Fire Departments responded to a single vehicle crash involving a large Budget box truck that occurred along Orange Road.

According to Warwick Police Chief Dave Shoemaker, the department received a call alerting them to the accident at 6:01 a.m.

No injuries were reported to the single occupant of the truck, which rolled over after crossing the centerline and departing the roadway. The operator was cited for failing to maintaina  proper lane.

“He destroyed a rock wall and some of the big heavy stones from that wall were found well over a hundred feet from the impact point,” Shoemaker said.

The road was closed while the crash site was cleared. The road was reopened around 8:30 a.m., according to Chief Shoemaker, but it took four hours to fully clear the area.

“Lucky nobody was hurt and property damage can be rectified,” Shoemaker said.

Warwick police called Arsenault Towing in Wendell, who organized two heavy duty wreckers from T.J. and Sons out of Gardner to help right the truck and clear the roadway.

Assisting Warwick Police and Fire Departments at the scene was a trooper from the Massachusetts State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section. Support was also provided by Shelburne Control.
