The Field Memorial Library at 1 Elm St. in Conway will host a fundraising event this weekend, Oct. 5, titled “Evening Under the Dome” from 5 to 8 p.m.

Conway residents and neighbors are encouraged to attend this evening event, which raises funds for this beautiful, historic library. There will be a preview of the Festival of the Hills Art Show and live music throughout the day from Conway’s own ArliCats, playing selections from the Great American Songbook. Attendees will also have a chance to win a handmade quilt. Hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks will be served. The event is BYOB. All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Field Memorial Library.

Spring book sale

Friends of the Field Memorial Library will hold its spring book sale in the spring, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Field Memorial Library, 1 Elm St. in Conway. Attendees can expect to be able to browse a large selection of hardcover and paperback books, DVDs, CDs and audiobooks intended for patrons of every age and of many different genres. Most books will be $1 or less. All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Field Memorial Library.

The downtown library is open Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. It is closed Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Tuesday.
