Alivia Patch recorded 15 saves in net to help the Mahar Middle School girls soccer team battle to a 0-0 tie against Pioneer Valley Regional on Monday.

Ella Croteau, Emma Elliott, Hazel Emery and Bella Melo played well defensively for Mahar.

Athol Middle School

The Athol-Royalston Middle School boys soccer team tied against Greenfield, 2-2, on Monday.

Greenfield took command in the first half, leading 2-0, but the Red Raiders made adjustments which allowed Braydon York and Cooper Sonnabend to score goals.

Pioneer Valley Gardens lost to Westfield Red twice over the weekend, falling 10-5 on Sunday and 9-3 on Saturday, with both games at Abercrombie Field.

In Sunday’s loss, Henry Cloutier-Potter and Davey Mazur each had two hits while Aiden Heffernan and Dylen Richardson each had a hit.

Cloutier-Potter, Sam Whitney and Mazur each had an RBI.

On Saturday, Gabe Solodky, Mazur and Whitney recorded hits in the loss, with Mazur bringing in a pair of runs and Kyle Begos also recording an RBI.

Mahar Homecoming

Any Mahar Regional School alumni interested in playing in the annual Homecoming matches on Oct. 12 against the Mahar varsity teams for volleyball, boys soccer, girls soccer and field hockey should contact the coaches.

Alumni interested in playing volleyball, which starts at 9 a.m. should contact Miss Sarah Woodward. Alumni interested in playing field hockey, which begins at 9 a.m., should contact Mrs. Laurie Saisa. Alumni interested in playing boys soccer, which begins at 10 a.m., should contact Mr. Dan Guertin. Alumni interested in playing girls soccer, which begins at 11:15 a.m., should contact Mr. Chad Softic.
