We think Greenfield is very lucky to have Sheila Gilmour as a candidate for mayor! She has a great variety of life experience that makes Sheila the best candidate for Greenfield’s new mayor. Sheila has a list of important top priorities —infrastructure, economic development and restoring trust with city employees. Much of her experience makes her uniquely qualified. Her ability to listen to others, to process information and her steady calmness will help her. Sheila bases her thinking on facts, not misinformation — this is needed in Greenfield.
Sheila’s 8 1/2 years in the military give her the ability to understand and connect with veterans. This also shows her dedication to service. Sheila’s living in poverty as a young woman gives her compassion and understanding for those in Greenfield who need help at this point in their lives. She will connect with everyone with clarity, kindness, and calmness. Her children being in the Greenfield school system has helped her advocate for the schools while still caring about the budget as a councilor.
Sheila works at UMass Amherst and is vice-president of her union. She has also been active in union issues in Franklin County. Sheila Gilmour’s even temperament, experience, and an abundance of energy make her the best candidate for the next mayor of Greenfield.
