I have known Sheila Gilmore almost four year and in that time and I have seen she the skills and desire to make Greenfield a better place to live and/or raise a family. When I campaigned for my City Council seat in Precinct 8, I also espoused upon the progressive values of Sheila, because in some areas our precincts abutted each other’s.
At the first debate Sheila was the only candidate to mention climate change and how its effecting our planet, that alone shows forward and progressive thinking and with her growing relationship with our state senators and representatives she will work With three kids in Greenfield’s school system she was adamant that they be fully funded and as City Councilor voted exactly that.
Having been a past union president I learned negotiation and conflict resolution skills and with Sheila sharing a similar background I have seen those same skills in play, her temperament is cool and open to new ideas. She speaks and acts from a base of knowledge, not hearsay and conjure or just plaining guessing as has happened so many times from the conservatives on the council So it’s with these skills along with so many others City Hall employees, they will feel safe in a clearly defined chain of command willing to listen and resolve problems should they arise.
If you want a true progressive that walks the walk and talks the talk; if you want a true compassionate Mayor that is always willing to learn and not dictate from on high without first learning the facts Please vote on Sept. 10 for Sheila Gilmour… you,ll be glad you did!!
