When I vote for mayor on Sept. 10, I am casting my vote for Sheila Gilmour.

Sheila embodies the qualities and values I strongly believe Greenfield needs in our next mayor.

For the first time, with Sheila as mayor, we will have an open and deliberate budgeting process, where all citizens can weigh in on where our tax dollars go before the budget is presented to the City Council.

Sheila knows we need to grow our tax base and has innovative, new and creative ideas to reach that goal.

Sheila will step in and proactively involve the city leadership in dealing with the opioid crisis.

She has kids currently in the Greenfield Public School system and knows our schools need to be fully funded.

As City Council president I appointed Sheila as the chairperson of the Appointments and Ordinances Committee because she is incredibly smart, a good leader, and gets things done.

I admire the other candidates running for mayor and appreciate their past service to our town. And while it’s true that we can learn a lot from history, we can’t stay stuck in the past. We need to move Greenfield forward and that’s the direction that Sheila will take us.

Sheila is the only candidate that represents the change, hope and progress that Greenfield needs.
