BERNARDSTON — Two Vermont men and one woman were arrested Wednesday night for trafficking cocaine and heroin.
Sean M. Lewis, 43, Calvin R. Therrien, 38, and Ashley N. Newland, 34, all of White River Junction, Vt., were arrested and charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession of a Class A drug (heroin) with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate drug laws, according to a Massachusetts State Police press release.
Trooper Anthony Lavigne from the State Police barracks in Shelburne Falls stopped a BMW 328 traveling on Interstate 91 at around 5 p.m., the release states.
With assistance from Trooper Jeffrey Murray and Trooper George D’Amelio, the driver, Lewis, and passengers Therrien and Newland were found to be in possession of approximately 23 grams of cocaine and approximately 100 bags of heroin. According to the release, Lewis also had a suspended Vermont driver’s license.
