SHELBURNE FALLS — The Senior Center of Shelburne Falls is holding its annual picnic Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. under a tent on Mohawk Trail Regional School’s lawn.
Usually, the event is held at Buckland Recreational Area, but because the site is undergoing construction, Mohawk Trail offered up its lawn for the occasion, Senior Center Director Cathy Buntin said.
“It’s a wonderful social time,” she said.
The local Kiwanis Club will cater the free picnic, serving a barbecue of hamburgers and hot dogs, as well as veggie burgers, salads and steaks. Watermelon and birthday cake are on the menu for dessert.
Live country and swing music will play from 11 a.m. to noon, performed by Pat and Tex LaMountain with Avery and White.
An aide of U.S. Congressman Richard Neal’s will also attend the picnic to hear concerns and share what the representative is working on, Buntin said.
To reserve a seat, contact Buntin at 413-625-2502 or sfsrctr@crocker.com by Monday.
Reach Grace Bird at gbird@recorder.com or 413-772-0261, ext. 280.
