The duo of Christopher and Jenna Deszynski posted a winning gross of 73 to top the field at the Country Club of Greenfield’s Husband and Wife Championship over the weekend.
Sue and Rick Sigda tied with the team of Terry and Wendy Blanchard to finish in a tie for second place at 75.
Anne and Scott Lyman had the low net of 56, followed by Sue and Brian Luippold (58) and Carl and Jodi Hoynoski (59).

The teams of Dave Donoghue/Jason Kelton and Keith Burch/Justin Dion tied for first place with a low gross of 69 in the Blue Tee Division of the Crumpin-Fox Club’s Member/Member-Member/Guest Tournament on Saturday in Bernardston.
Tying for the low net in the Blue Tee Division were the teams of Cam Merrigan/Jeremiah Bayer and Erik and Brett Barnes.
In the Gold Tee Division, three teams posted a low gross of 71. Doug Taylor/Ron McKay, Jon and Rob Shea, and Hugo Degray/Phil Phillips led the way there.
Doug Taylor and Tilly Clark had the low net of 57, followed by Joe Cocco and Joe Imelio (64).
F.C. Babe Ruth
The Franklin County Babe Ruth League is hosting its August monthly meeting Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. at St. Kazimierz Society in Turners Falls.

Valley Storm tryouts
Tryouts for the 2020 season of the Valley Storm softball team will be held at Merritt Field at Sunderland Elementary School Aug. 7-9.
Each tryout is from 6-8 p.m. for all players/ages. It is not required you attend every tryout date, but strongly encouraged for accurate evaluations. The 2020 Season will host 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U teams. Come check out our family and see what we’re about.

Montague 3-on-3 tourney
The Montague Parks and Recreation Department is holding its second annual 3-on-3 youth basketball tournament Aug. 10 at Unity Park in Turners Falls.
The tournament will begin at 9:30 a.m. and is organized by NextUp basketball coordinator Josh Morse. All proceeds go toward sustaining the basketball courts for the area youth.
The event is open to anyone 18 years or younger, with teams of four split into four divisions: Varsity, JV, 14U and 12U.
Signup is $40 per team, and the tournament will feature championship prizes and trophies, a four game guarantee, food and refreshment.

The Greenfield Tennis Association is holding a Mixed Doubles tennis event Saturday at the Beacon Field courts starting at 9 a.m.
The entry fee is $5 per team for members and $10 for non-members. All fees go to maintaining Greenfield’s clay tennis courts. Please bring an unopened can of tennis balls. The format will depend on the number of teams. If you’d like to play, please notify Brian at bclamore@gmail.com.
Montague mini-camp
The competitive style mini-camp takes place Aug. 12-15 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Turners Falls High School pool.
The camp has a competitive swimming approach, and is not a learn-to-swim program. Participants should be somewhat knowledgeable of all strokes and wish to broaden those skills for competitive team swimming. The cost is $45 per swimmer for Montague residents and $50 for non-residents.
