Stargazing starts Friday

WARWICK — Stargazing will be held at Shepardson Field all week.

Starting on Friday, Aug. 3, and going through the rest of the week, residents are welcome to observe the night sky in front of the Warwick Free Public Library, weather permitting, according to Librarian Ivan Ussach. Joe Delfausse will bring his telescope, and there may be others as well.

In addition to the moon and planets, spectators will look at some of the better-known constellations and catch a glimpse of the International Space Station flying overhead.

Ussach said Delfausee will be sending out emails to the library each afternoon with more details about what to expect in the sky that night, as well as a weather update. If you have a pair of binoculars, bring them along.
