Sunday: Blessing of the Bicycles

DEERFIELD — Ride your bike to church, suggests the Rev. Liza B. Knapp of The First Church of Deerfield. A blessing of the bicycles service, set for 10 a.m. on July 21, will feature reflections from a nine-year veteran of the Pan Mass Challenge, and music by cellist Mark Fraser. An interfaith blessing of bicycles is set for 11 a.m. on the church lawn, for cyclists of all ages and abilities. The church is at 71 Old Main St.

BERNARDSTON — Enjoy a pancake breakfast with Rev. Steve Wilson at Bernardston Unitarian Meetinghouse on Sunday, July 28 at 10:30 a.m. $5 per person. Service follows the breakfast at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Wilson returns to preach from his present position as minister of the Pacific Unitarian Universalist Church in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. Rev. Wilson was pastor of the Bernardston Unitarian Church from 2005 to 2017. Sermon topic: “A ‘Castaway’ trying to be a ‘Survivor.’” Music by Lynne Walker.

Finding Home — Storytelling: Sunday at All Souls

GREENFIELD — “Finding Home — Storytelling” will be the program at All Souls UU church on Sunday, July 28, at 10:30 a.m. Russel Pirkot, Kate Mason, Tony Manning and Connie Englert will be prepared tellers. Aug. 4: Farewell Reception for the Rev. Barbara Seamon

SUNDERLAND — All are welcome to celebrate the ministry and say good-bye to the Rev. Barbara K. Seamon, pastor at The First Congregational Church of Sunderland, U.C.C., 91 South Main St. On Sunday, Aug. 4, there will be worship at 10 a.m. and a farewell reception at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Seamon has served the Sunderland church for the past 10 years and has served other regional UCC congregations for more than 30 years.

Ridge Sunday in Northfield: Aug. 4

NORTHFIELD — The Rustic Ridge community invites all to join them at Trinitarian Congregational Church, 147 Main St., for their 18th annual celebration and worship service on Sunday, Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. Jonathan Hydenreich of Faith Lutheran Church in Andover will preach, and a combined community choir led by TCC Choir Director Heather Tower will provide choral music. All singers are invited to participate: Rehearsal is Friday, Aug. 2, at 5 p.m. at the church. Coordinating the service are Margaret Conner, Dave Powell and Heather Tower. A reception will follow.

CROP Hunger Walk Recruitment Rally set for Aug. 15

SUNDERLAND — The 2019 Franklin County CROP Hunger Walk will hold a recruitment rally on Thursday, Aug. 15, at 6:02 p.m. at First Congregational Church of Sunderland, 91 South Main St. Coordinator Steve Damon says, “A first step in the voyage of eradicating worldwide hunger and poverty is having someone in your group become a recruiter, attending this recruitment rally, where all pertinent information will be distributed.
