My name is Eric Markol. I live in Montague. I’m appalled by the actions of the majority of the Greenfield City Council. It is crystal clear to me they do not care about law-abiding, responsible, taxpaying citizens that currently are issued a license to carry a concealed firearm. I am dumbfounded by their actions, that received a standing ovation no less, to vote in the safe city ordinance. Why on earth would you put the needs of someone who is a foreign citizen, who doesn’t pay taxes or votes, above the needs of a legal, taxpaying, responsible citizen? What am I missing here? Every citizen that has an LTC In Greenfield will be forced to travel to Boston to renew their current license under the new safe city ordinance. Smarten up Greenfield.
