Jerusalem Peacebuilders, a nonrprofit organization, will present “The Quest for Peace,” a music and theater production with Jerusalem Teens, Court Dorsey and John VanEps on July 27 in the Pushkin Gallery at Hawks and Reed Performing Arts Center in Greenfield.

This will be a special evening of music and theater led by an inspiring group of young Palestinian, Israeli and American leaders.

Over the last two weeks on a mountain near West Brattleboro, 19 teens have engaged in a fateful quest for peace in the Middle East, exploring leadership, peacebuilding, interfaith understanding, and the key issues related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The event will feature performances by Court Dorsey, the Jerusalem Peacebuilder teens, and John VanEps, exploring issues of social justice and peace. Their work speaks to our common humanity and shared struggle for peace and justice in a broken world. The event will be rare opportunity to meet Israeli and Palestinian peacebuilders and to learn more about one of the most challenging conflicts of our time, according to a press statement.

Founded in 2011 by two Vermont residents, the Rev. Canon Nicholas and Dorothy Porter, Jerusalem Peacebuilders is an interfaith non-profit organization with the mission of creating a better future for humanity across religions, cultures, and nationalities. Its programs focus on uniting Israeli, Palestinian and American youth and adults and providing them with the opportunities and skills they need to become future leaders for peace.

Court Dorsey and John VanEps are initiating a new series Out with Dordei, featuring poetry, theater and music performance, as well as interviews and performances with notable guests.  Jerusalem Peacebuilders: The Quest for Peace is the first presentation in this series.
