Greenfield Military Band: Every Tuesday evening in July, the Greenfield Military Band plays at Energy Park. Bring your blankets, chairs and a picnic.
Free One-Day Triathlon Clinic: Aimed at first-time and beginner triathletes, topics will include an introduction of the Greenfield Lightlife Triathlon course; race day preparation including nutrition and rest; gear: what you need and what you don’t; how best to stay afloat on the river; tips on transitions; getting the most from your ride and run; review of USAT triathlon rules; and having a successful finish. There will be time after the clinic to swim, ride and run. To be held rain or shine. All ages, Saturday, July 27, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Green River Swimming Area.
Triathlon Volunteers Needed: Looking for another way to get involved with the Greenfield Lightlife Triathlon on Sunday, Aug. 4? Volunteers are needed to fill many positions including packet pickup, site preparation, water stop, registration, body marking, road marshal, finish line assistant, food service and transition area security. Sign up online or contact the Recreation Department with questions.
Movie in the Park: “How to Eat Fried Worms,” Friday, Aug. 9, at 8:30 p.m. at the Green River Swimming and Recreation Area. Enjoy a film outside on the big screen with family and friends. Movies begin at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.) but arrive early for some “Gross Out” challenges beginning at 7 p.m Pack a picnic and bring your blanket. Daily gate rates apply.
