MANCHESTER, N.H. — Investigators are waiting for autopsy results to determine the cause of death of a man from Orange who was being held on child molestation charges.
Keith Sullivan, 38, was pronounced dead last Wednesday afternoon after he was transported from the Hillsborough County House of Corrections to Elliot Hospital in Manchester. According to the Associated Press, Sullivan was already unresponsive during the ambulance ride.
Hillsborough County Department of Corrections Superintendent David Dionne said Thursday investigators would not know what led to Sullivan’s death until an autopsy is completed.
He declined to say whether or not foul play or anything unusual about the death is suspected.
Sullivan was arrested last month after a months-long investigation by the Nashua Police Department into claims made by a juvenile who said Sullivan had molested him.
According to a statement by the Nashua Police Department, detectives received information in January that Sullivan had sexually assaulted the juvenile several years ago. The juvenile was known to Sullivan.
Police arrested Sullivan on June 27 after further investigation into the allegations. He was being held on a $10,000 bail.
Sullivan was subsequently charged with three counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, special felony, with extortion and kidnapping.
