GREENFIELD — Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility is one of 23 long-term care facilities recognized by the Massachusetts Senior Care Association for providing “exemplary care to its residents.”

The 2019 Bronze Commitment to Quality Award was presented recently by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living. The award recognizes providers that have demonstrated a commitment to improving the quality of care for individuals living in senior living communities.

Charlene Manor Administrator Ashley Lebeau said the four-star facility is pleased and honored. She said it is continually working toward a five-star rating. The award looks at everything from inspections and staffing to everyday care and activities for its residents.

“We are a preferred provider of choice in our community because of the quality care we provide,” Lebeau said. “This quality journey we’ve been on has shown that we’ve sustained improvement and growth. We’re above average in our care.”

Lebeau said Charlene Manor can serve a total of 123 people. She said typically only three to four beds are free at a time. The facility employs 150 staff members, many of whom have worked there for decades.

“We thank our caregivers and their staffs for enriching the lives of their residents,” said Tara Gregorio, president of the MSCA. “We applaud them for their continued commitment to providing quality resident care.”

The MSCA represents a diverse group of organizations delivering broad services to older adults and people with disabilities. Charlene Manor is one of the more than 400 nursing and rehab facilities, assisted-living residences, residential care facilities and continuing-care retirement communities in the association.

Charlene Manor has been in Greenfield since 1987 providing short-term rehabilitation, long-term nursing care and specialized dementia care. For more information about Charlene Manor, call 413-774-3724 or visit: charlenemanor.org.
