As I mostly agree with your “fishy” assessment of our national wealth inequality situation (which seems to make poverty sound like a mysterious happening), go no further back than the Republican tax cut, which heavily favored the wealthiest among us. There is no “fishy” mystery to it. Most people with lots of money and clout push for national policy favoring themselves. It’s as simple as that.
