SHELBURNE FALLS — If one of dad’s interests includes trains and trolleys, the Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum knows just how he should spend Father’s Day.

The museum is offering free trolley rides for fathers, starting Sunday at 11 a.m., as long as they are accompanied by at least one of their children, a museum press release states. The museum will be in full operation all day, with activities for everyone from the youngest child to the oldest father, and for mothers, too.

Guests can also enjoy the Visitors Center, which has interesting exhibits outlining the history of the local trolley operation, as well as wooden and electric trains for the youngsters to play with. Gifts are available in the Trolley Gift Shop, and the restored caboose and pump car are popular attractions outside.

Louis Musante of the Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum notes that the museum can be just the beginning of Father’s Day activities. Nearby destinations, which include Mo’s Fudge Factor, the Bridge of Flowers and several restaurants, can make for a full day of entertainment.
