Despite outhitting powerhouse Keene, the Greenfield 12U All-Stars were doomed by five errors Friday night. Keene captured a 6-2 victory in baseball tournament action played in Swanzey, N.H.

Hugh Cyhowski and Ethan Quinn combined to strike out six batters on the mound. Braeden Tsipenyuk registered two hits, including a double, to pace the offense, while Cyhowski added a double. Also recording hits were Brayden Thayer, Jackson Campbell, Devin Dubie and Silas Muzzy.

GMLB

David Knox roped two hits, while the trio of Nick Prasol, Nico Siano and Bodie Burke all hit safely to help Aubuchon Hardware to a 12-4 win over Smitty’s Pub in a Greenfield Minor League Baseball AAA Division game, Friday night at Lunt Field.

Smitty’s received two hits apiece from Jaxon Silva and Jonathan Ainsworth, while Benny Santiago doubled.

• Elsewhere, Rylin Koscinski and Julian James smacked home runs, and all nine Sandri Plumbing batters registered at least one hit in a 14-7 win over Freedom Credit Union.

Tristan James, Brennan Mahoney and CJ Halla all doubled for Sandri.

Austin Drowski led the Freedom offense with two extra-base hits. Clayton Massa doubled, while Noah Waterman tossed two strong innings and the duo of Connor Guertin and Desmond Drake also pitched well in the loss.

Frontier Cal Ripken

Cal Antes broke through with a hit, run scored and an RBI, helping Frontier’s Yankee Candle defeat the Greenfield 11U tournament team, 9-4, in an exhibition game played Friday night in Sunderland.

Margaret Edwards (hit, run), Mason Thornton (hit, run, RBI), Brayden McDonough (three hits, RBI), Owen Babb (two hits, run, RBI), Dylan Camp (two hits, run, two RBIs), Thomas Unkles (hit, run, two RBIs) and CJ Hannum (hit, run) had nice days offensively. Kaden James, Camp and Thornton each tossed two innings with two strikeouts apiece.

• Top-seeded Deerfield rode the offensive work of Landon Clar, who slammed two doubles and a single en route to a 15-1 win over Sunderland during Frontier Cal Ripken Minor League postseason action Thursday night.

Colin Galli also recorded a double and Lucas Savage hit two singles. Ryder Savage and Konner James each singled for the winners.

For Sunderland, Patrick Beeltje and Theo D’Urso recorded singles, and Evan Maio struck out eight batters.

Youth softball

Margarette Howland struck out 12 in 4⅔ innings of work, lifting Pipione’s Sport Shop to a regular season-ending 7-5 victory over Gilmore & Farrell Insurance in a Greenfield Girls Softball League Ponytail Division game, Friday night at Murphy Park.

Anna Bucala struck out four batters in 1⅓ innings for Pipione’s, and she was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI at the dish. Shelby O’Leary tripled and drove in four runs in the victory, while Cordelia Guerin (double), Molly McIntyre (run) and Sophia Pinardi (run) all contributed.

Gilmore & Farrell’s Grace Laurie and Ellis Benitez combined to struck out 14 batters. Benitez had two hits, including a double and three RBIs, while Jenna Petrowicz had a hit and Kali Lewis and Avery Savage each had an RBI.

Golf

Hole-in-one

Greenfield’s Terry Killeen recorded a hole-in-one on Friday.

Killeen aced the fifth hole at the Country Club of Greenfield, using an 8-iron to accomplish the feat.
