We are writing to correct some misinformation that has been repeated in the newspaper recently. The taxpayers of Orange have, in fact, passed an override since 2003. In 2010, the town successfully passed a budget override in support of the library, transfer station, and council on aging. Our citizens have publicly and resoundingly declared these services and personnel essential. Many people are working hard to keep Orange a good place to live. Reporting the facts correctly is critical to supporting their good work.
