Alex Knapp hit a two-run double in the top of the sixth inning to lift Turners Falls Athletic Club to a 10-9 win over St. Kazimierz in a Newt Guilbault Community League baseball game Friday night at Campbell Field in Turners Falls.
Matt Field struck out 14 in five innings on the mound. Knapp added one more hit and another RBI to finish with two hits and three runs batted in. Brodie Girard had three hits and one RBI, while Sammy Studlien singled.
Kainen Stevens struck out nine in the no-decision. Zayvey Nieves went 3-for-4 with an RBI for St. Kaz. Brandon Talbot tripled, Jackson Cogswell had a hit and and RBI, and Curtis Kretchmar had a great catch in left.
• In other action, Jake Jurek had a pair of doubles to lead Greenfield Savings Bank to a 17-1 win over Booska’s Flooring.
Caleb Dillensneider went 3-for-4 in the win, and Ethan Eichorn struck out six and allowed two hits in three innings.
Max Brunette doubled in the loss, and Jaiden Lapointe played well defensively.

Juleyen Carter roped three hits, including a double, and Rotary Club got past Aubuchon’s, 15-9, in a Greenfield Minor League Baseball AAA Division contest played Friday night at Lunt Field.
Tyler Zdanowicz had two hits and two RBIs for Rotary, while Ethan Burgh and Jackson Glazier added two hits apiece.
Aubuchon’s received two hits from Nico Siano. Bodie Burke tripled and Brendan Clough added a hit.
• Meanwhile, Aiden Shea, Judah Glenn and Joshua Mauthe each pitched well to lead Denny’s Pantry to a 13-3 win over Sandri Plumbing.
Shea led the offense with three hits, while Glenn, Fitzpatrick, Dylan Breiwick, William Renaud, Cole Gamache and Joshua Mauthe each had one hit and scored a run.
Cody Yetter pitched well and had a hit in the loss. Tristan James and Jacoby Stumpo each pitched well.
• Finally, • Finally, Jaxon Silva went 3-for-3 to lead Smitty’s Pub past Freedom Credit Union, 18-7.
Mason Fiorey doubled and tripled in the win, while Evan Tsipenyuk, Hunter Donahue and Malik Moore all added doubles.

Dylan Camp and CJ Hannum combined to strike out 14 and Yankee Candle beat Easthampton Savings Bank, 8-6, in a Frontier Cal Ripken 50/70 Division baseball game Thursday in Hadley.
Will Johnson singled, doubled, drove in one run and scored once. Owen Babb singled, tripled, drove in a run and scored twice, and Thomas Unkles doubled with one RBI and two runs scored. Kaden James, Harry Laflamme and Camp each had one hit, one RBI and one run scored.
Hilltown Softball League
Megan Gabaree struck out nine to pick up the win, and Makayla Tatro smacked three home runs and six RBIs to help the Hawlemont Pumas edge the Buckland/Shelburne Huskies, 12-9, in a Hilltown Softball League contest played Friday night at Hawlemont Elementary School.
Raia Labreux was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Ketsly Lopez-Velez had a hit and an RBI in the victory for Hawlemont.
The Huskies received 11 strikeouts in the circle from Limmea Macek, and she added three hits and three RBIs at the dish. Bella Pettengill (two hits, two RBIs) and Ashleigh Billiel (double, two RBIs) aided the offensive cause.

Kayla Fish, Charley Knight and Charlee Vera each had four hits to lead Precision Driving School to a 4-2 win over Pelletier Electric in a Greenfield Girls Softball League Lil Nipper Division game Friday night at Murphy Park in Greenfield.
Maya Laprade and Madisyn Pelletier each had three hits in the loss.
• Elsewhere, Bianca Reynolds was 3-for-3, while the trio of Amelia Bouchard, Bella Estabrook and Carson Farrell all went 2-for-2 to lift Franklin First Credit Union to a 5-3 win over Lundgren Honda in Lil Nippers action.
For Lundgren, Vivienne Henry and Maddy Ross went 4-for-4 and Abby Morrett added three hits.
• On Thursday, Kayla Fish and Izzy Allen each had three hits as Precision topped Harper’s Package Store, 8-1.
Kinsley Bergeron added two hits in the win.
Angelina Kamparies had three hits for Harper’s, and Parker Walters added two hits.

PV pole vault school
The Pioneer Valley Pole Vault School in Bernardston is open by appointment for individual and group lessons through the fall with negotiable rates.
Lessons will be taught by Pioneer Valley Regional School track and Northfield Mount Hermon School pole vault coach Jim Bell, himself a Masters pole vaulter.

Lake Wyola Road Race
The 39th Annual Lake Wyola Road Race and Walk will be held on June 9 at 10 a.m. for the walk with the road race to follow at 10:30 a.m.
The course is a 4.8 mile hilly, scenic trail around beautiful Lake Wyola in Shutesbury. There is also a 1.5 mile fun run for the first time this year. The race starts at the Lake Wyola Association Building at 6 Shore Drive in Shutesbury. There are many prizes and a raffle open to all participants. All proceeds benefit the Lake Wyola Association, which is dedicated to maintaining the health of the lake and its surroundings.
Montague Mug Race
Registration is underway for the 39th annual Montague Mug Race, set for Aug. 17 at the Village Common.
The 5.5-mile race blasts off at 8:30 a.m. Pewter Mugs are awarded to top male/female finishers and coffee mugs to top finishers of each division. T-shirts are given to the first 90 runners.
Now in its 15th year, the Mini Mug Race will kick off at 8:35. This 2-mile course is a great scenic route around the Old South Cemetery. Both races will finish at the ball field. All runners are entered into drawing for local prizes. The course is well marked with plenty of water stops and features a few challenging hills with a run along the Connecticut River.
