For more than two years, we who live in the outer reaches of Greenfield have been waiting to be connected with our city’s internet service, GCET. The standard response that I have received from them in the many calls that I’ve made is that we can expect it in six months, but clearly this has not been the case. Meanwhile, we out in the far reaches are still being held hostage by Comcast, paying ridiculously high fees while our neighbors closer to town enjoy affordable rates, including TV. Given that GCET is cooperatively owned by us, the residents of Greenfield, it would follow that every effort should be made to include all of us, as was promised at the inception of the company. At the very least, I would ask that the people at GCET be honest and clear about when or even if we can expect service.
