A barrage of home runs propelled Greenfield Middle School past Mohawk Trail Middle School, 30-2, in a four-inning softball game Thursday in Buckland.

Amber Bergeron, Carly Blanchard and Ainslee Flynn each belted home runs in the win. Bergeron finished 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs in the win, while Blanchard added two doubles and four RBIs. Flynn had a double and three RBIs. Ellis Benitez struck out five in three innings for the win, while Lilly Ross struck out two in the final frame.

GGSL

Margarette Howland struck out nine in four innings, picking up the victory in the circle to help Pipione’s Sport Shop get past Descavich Plumbing, 18-7, in a Greenfield Girls Softball League Ponytail Division game Thursday night at Murphy Park.

Shayla Freeland, Anna Bucala, and Kylee Gamache all had a hit and three RBIs for Pipione’s, and Howland added a hit and an RBI.

Gloria McDonald, Addie Rotkiewicz and Lilly Ross split the pitching duties for Descavich. Ross had two hits and three RBIs, Carly Blanchard doubled, and Rotkiewicz singled.

• In Lil Nipper action, Charley Knight, Charlee Vera and Addison Martin each had three hits as Precision Driving School beat Lundgren Honda, 9-2.

Ainsley Martin picked up her first hit of the season in the win.

Ella Guyette and Abby Moffatt each had two hits.

Nina Holden and Teagan Boliski combined to strike out 10 in four innings and Bernardston bested Vernon, 16-0, in a Tri-County League youth softball game Thursday in Vernon, Vt.

Allison Clary and Holden each had two hits in the win, while Abby Ray, Isabella Graves, Boliski and Ashlyn Chapin each had a hit 

• In other action, Audrianna Bassett had five hits including a double as Erving edged Northfield, 14-12.

Kiera Richardson Meattey had two doubles, one single and seven RBIs in the win. Leeanna Castagna pitched five innings to earn the win and also singled.

Kristine Given doubled, singled and drove in two runs for Northfield and also struck out eight in four innings. Laura Fuess had three hits and two RBIs, Elana Witherell had three hits and also struck out four in two innings of pitching, and Kalyn Barry hit an RBI single and also made a nice catch at second base.

Youth baseball

GMLB

Brayden Thayer scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the sixth inning as Gilmore & Farrell Insurance beat New Fortune Restaurant, 5-4, in a Greenfield Minor League Major Division baseball game Thursday night at Lunt Field in Greenfield.

Thayer went 2-for-3 with a two-run double in the win, while Jackson Campbell had a hit and an RBI. Thayer and Hugh Cyhowski each pitched three innings and combined to strike out 10 and walk two. Cyhowski and Ben Werner each drove in a run.

Braeden Tsipenyuk, Ethan Quinn and Jackson Petrin combined to strike out eight in the loss and walk only two. Quinn went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Tsipenyuk had one hit, one RBI and a run. Malike Morre had a hit, and Levi Halla had one RBI.

• In AA action, Carter Malouin and Mike Mickiewicz each had three hits and scored three runs as Bobby C’s DJ Service picked up its first win of the season with a 16-10 win over Pioneer Valley Tire.

Finn Coffin, Landen Allenby, Tevaariss Hall, Paxton Phelps and Eli Castillo each had multiple hits and runs scored in the win. Lucas Allenby struck out five in two innings to earn the win.

Carter Berthiaume tripled and homered for Pioneer Valley, and Hunter Parker tripled. Ethan Facey, Xaviay Reynolds, Tucker Aldrich and Connor Livingstone each had one hit.

Frontier Cal Ripken

Max Skribiski-Banack struck out seven in four innings, and was 2-for-3 at the plate with a double to help Delta Sand & Gravel pick up a 13-3 win over Wilcox Builders in a Frontier Cal Ripken 40/60 game, Thursday in Sunderland.

Austin D’Urso drove in four runs for Delta, while Collin West and John Carmichael had three RBIs apiece. Cooper Whitney added two RBIs and Tegan Dexter recorded five putouts in the field and earned a save.

Jake Wilcox was 2-for-3 for Wilcox Builders. The squad picked up doubles from Connor Kowalski, Cam Graves and Ryan McCoy.

Elks League

The teams of Greg Call and Bob Zaikowski tied for first place with the team of John Cariddi and Stan Maynard, as both squads amassed 30 points to lead the pack during Week 5 of the Greenfield Elks Golf League at the Country Club of Greenfield, Wednesday.

Next up was the tandem of Mike Duclos and Sharon Rawson (28½ points), followed by Bob Ferris and Vinnie Melendez (28). 

Adult softball

Montague Co-Rec

Dustin Olson went 3-for-3 as Fairview Landscapes bested Turners Falls Pizza House, 12-6, in a Montague Co-Rec Adult Softball League game Thursday at Unity Park in Turners Falls.

Cheyenne Anderson went 3-for-4 in the win, and Angelica Perfido added two hits.

Jay Avery belted a pair of home runs in the loss, and Becky Dame Zukowski went 3-for-4.
