Bernardston’s newsletter is seeking advertisers interested in placing a business card-sized ad in the quarterly town publication throughout fiscal year 2020. Advertisers pay $100 for the whole fiscal year, which covers the four issues distributed to every single Bernardston household and business in the months of July, October, January, and April. A color version of the current newsletter is placed on www.townofbernardston.org and extra newsletters are placed in the Town Hall, Cushman Library, the Senior Center, and Post Office. That’s a lot of coverage for $25 per quarter. Advertisers must supply a clear JPEG or PNG of their business card, or an ad equal to that size, to bernardstonnewsletter@gmail.com. A Mindfulness Meditation class designed for seniors and will Tuesdays, 3:30 to 5 p.m., April 30-June 18 at the Gill-Montague Senior Center, 62 Fifth St. The class offers an understanding of the physiology of stress, gentle stretching and several forms of meditation (all done on a chair). It offers a path to living in the present moment with calm acceptance in the face of everyday stress. Thanks to a grant from the Gill-Montague Council on Aging, the cost for this class is $75. People aged 60 or older from any town are welcome. A non-refundable $37.50 deposit will hold a place. The balance of $37.50 is due at the first class. Participants are asked to commit to attending all eight weeks and to doing homework assignments that build new everyday habits of equanimity.
