Savannah Aldrich struck out six batters, and teammate Ivy Rae earned the win in the circle as Conte Office Interiors doubled up Gilmore & Farrell Insurance, 8-4, in a Greenfield Girls Softball League Ponytail Division contest Monday night at Murphy Park.

Victoria Vassar doubled and drove in a run for Conte, while Lydia Wood also had a hit.

Gilmore & Farrell received an RBI from Grace Laurie and a hit from Kali Lewis.

• In Lil Nipper play, Kayden Viencek went 4-for-4 with two RBIs to help Franklin First Credit Union to a 12-6 win over Lundgren Honda in a Greenfield Girls Softball League Lil Nipper Division game at Murphy Park in Greenfield.

LilliannaBadillo and Bella Estabrook each went 3-for-3 with two RBIs in the win.

Megan Bacigalupo had four hits for Lundgren, while Vivenne Henry and Norah Henry each played well.

• In other Nipper action, Ivy Lopez had three hits to lead the Purple Panthers past Harper’s Store, 10-2.

Chloe Bigelow had two hits and played well defensively in the loss, and Bea Dulles had a hit.

Annie Cobileanschi had three hits for Harper’s, while KaylinSevoian and Riley Dyer each had two hits.

Hugh Cyhowski was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs, and Aiden Bailey smacked a two-run home run in the first inning to lift Gilmore & Farrell Insurance to an 11-3 victory over Maniatty Real Estate in a Greenfield Minor League Baseball Majors Division game played Sunday at Lunt Field.

Cyhowski, Jackson Campbell, Hannah Gilbert, Ben Werner and Brayden Thayer combined to strike out seven batters on the mound for Gilmore & Farrell. Sovann Noeun aided the offensive effort with a 2-for-3 day, while Werner was also 2-for-3 and Campbell (hit, two RBIs) and Thayer (hit, RBI) also contributed.

Cam Burnett clubbed a two-run bomb for Maniatty, and teammate Silas Muzzy added two hits and an RBI. William Ainsworth, Luca Siano and Matt Garvin all had hits, with Burnett, Devin Dubie and Gavin Crossman combining on the hill to strike out eight.

Running

Read, Write, Run 5K

The Read, Write, Run 5K Run and 2K Walk to benefit The Literacy Project is set for May 5.

The race, which begins at Maines Field in Florence (570 Riverside Drive), kicks off at 10 a.m. with registration. The 2K walk goes off at 11 a.m. and the 5K run is set for 11:30 a.m. Registration is $25 for the runa nd $15 for the walk. Athletes under 12 years old are free.

Bluefish registrations

The Montague Parks & Recreation Department is accepting registrations for the Summer Bluefish swim team. 

The Bluefish are a competitive/recreational swim team that competes in the Pioneer Valley Swim League. Participation is open to all area youth who are able to successfully complete an in-pool swim test. Practice begins May 13 and meets are held Saturdays and occasional Tuesdays through the end of July. Rates vary.
