Unity Park Community Garden Spring Garden Cleanup: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Many hands make light work to get the garden in tip-top shape to start the growing season off right. Come hang out with some friendly neighbors while we finish laying wood chips down on the paths, process our compost, and plant spring vegetables in the pick-your-own beds. Volunteers will be sent home with free seeds. Snacks and warm drinks on hand. Green thumbs of all ages are welcome.

Montague Warrior Dash Adventure Course Race: Saturday, June 8 at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Elementary School Fields. We’ll be partnering with Hillcrest Elementary School to bring this adventure race. Children ages 5-12 will be given the task of racing through a pre-designed course with multiple obstacles. Racers will compete in separate age categories; 5/6, 7/8, 9/10/ 11/12, with boys and girls winners crowned in each category. The course may vary between some age groups. Shirts and sneakers required (no sandals or open-toed shoes). *Starting times may vary between groups. Proceeds benefit MPRD’s Scholarship Program & the Hillcrest Playground Project Fund! Summer Camp Registration: Registration for Montague Residents has begun. Non-residents may start to register Monday. Program dates: Monday, June 24 to Friday, Aug. 16, Monday through Friday, a.m. to 3 p.m. Theme Weeks, Field Trips, Special Events and trips to Laurel Lake. MPRD’s Summer Camp is designated as being a “Licensed Day Camp” through the Mass. Dept. of Public Health.

Summer Bluefish Swim Team: Monday, May 13 to Thursday, July 20 (TBD); practices Monday, Tuesday, Thursday evenings through mid-June, Monday and Thursday evenings from mid-June through July. Session I, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Novice and Intermediate. Session II 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. (Advanced) Meets: The Bluefish are members of the Pioneer Valley Summer Swim League (PVSSL). Fees: Montague residents, non-residents $175 for all swimming levels, $190 for all swimming levels. Family discount (two or more participants in same family household) available. New swimmers must successfully complete an in-water swim test to qualify for participation, Participation in Summer Bluefish does not guarantee placement in Winter Bluefish.
