Greenfield, April 16

12:07 p.m. — Caller on Wells Street said that his car was vandalized. Police observed a very light scratch on the driver’s side of the car, then advised the caller of his options.

12:47 p.m. — A car turning right into Poet’s Seat Healthcare Center on High Street was hit from behind in the rear left side by a passing vehicle of unknown make, model, color, which then drove away. Police concluded that the suspect vehicle should have fresh damage in the front driver’s side, and possibly a broken lens.

5:21 p.m. — Caller said that her Great Dane, Clifford, was attacked by a black lab mix, Repo, by the Green River swimming area on Nash’s Mill Road. Caller said she spoke to Repo’s owner, who denied the whole thing. Separately, Repo’s owner told police that his dog was “mauled” by Clifford. Clifford was transported by his owner to North County Veterinary Clinic for treatment.

5:23 p.m. — Two teens were reported to be hanging off the edge of Poet’s Seat Tower, taking selfies. Police were requested to tell them that it was unsafe, but upon arrival found nothing improper.

5:58 p.m. — An ax and a telescope were taken from an abandoned house on Hope Street by a man on a mobility scooter. Police confronted the man, who said that he grew up in the house and thought that it would be OK because the house is now town-owned and is going to auction.

11:00 p.m. — Caller heard a woman screaming around 169 Briar Way. Police checked the area around Hope Street, Highland Avenue and Peabody Lane, but did not find anyone. Nearby residents said they heard it as well but did not know where it came from.

Montague, April 16

4:27 p.m. — Caller reported missing three Wi-Fi cards, a pair of scissors and two laser pointers. Police responded. Caller said she would speak to her roommate, and follow up with police if necessary.

5:35 p.m. — A mother with her children at the Montague Center playground reported a white truck with red lettering that circled the playground four or five times, then left. The gender of the driver was not clear, and the driver did not interact with the children.

Montague, April 18

2:12 p.m. — A sick or injured squirrel was reported outside Charter Nex Films on Industrial Boulevard by an employee of the company. Police reported that the squirrel made its way back into a tree and did not appear sick.
