MONTAGUE — After reviewing 16 applications and interviewing five candidates, a 12-member search committee selected Paul Goodhind and Joanne Menard as the finalists for the secondary level principal of Turners Falls High School and Great Falls Middle School.
Members of the committee will visit the finalists’ schools this week and the candidates will spend a day each visiting the school next Wednesday and Thursday.
On Wednesday, April 10, Goodhind will visit the school.
For 30 years, Goodhind has been an educator and spent 20 an administrator. He is currently serving in his fourth year as principal of Mosier Elementary School in South Hadley. Prior to that, he was principal of Bolyston Elementary School and previously as principal of Mahar Regional School.
Goodhind holds a bachelor’s degree from Westfield State University, and a master’s from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
Menard will visit the school Thursday, April 11.
For the past four years, Menard has been the principal of Petersham Center School.
She was an instructional coach in Medway, a middle school science teacher in Spencer-East Brookfield, in addition to holding other teaching and private sector positions.
Menard has a bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University, a master’s from Anna Maria College and she is working on a doctorate at the University of Hartford.
There will be a public meet and greet in the high school theater from 4 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10 for Goodhind and Thursday, April 11 for Menard.
Sullivan said he expects to complete the selection process soon after meeting with the selection committee on Friday, April 12, before April vacation.
